Seniors
Our church has a seniors ministry with events including senior luncheons,
senior retreats, game days, special outings and ministry opportunities. Our Seniors are very active and welcome anyone who would like to join them in these activities.
The
men and women of our church have many opportunities for study,
fellowship as well positions of service for those who are able
and are willing to serve in the church body. They encourage each
other by prayer, fellowships, retreats and a prayer chain for
the emergencies of life.
The Ladies of the church have bible studies, fellowship, attend
conferences. They have yearly retreats that help encourage the women of our church in their walk with the LORD.
Our Women on Mission Study Group meets for an Bible study and
prayer time. They provide different presentations about missions
during the weeks that the entire church body is studying about missions.
They also gather to create different craft items like quilts for
those of the church body going on mission trips and for local
community outreach.
Youth
Ministry

Hemet
Valley Baptist Church offers activities for Middle School and High
School students ( 7th grade thru 12th) designed to challenge and
encourage growth in their relationship with God.
Activities
include retreats, youth camp, leadership training, mission trips,
and small group Bible study. They have recently formed a video team
that creates videos for reaching out to the youth in our community
as well as to support the ministries of this church. Through these
activities students fellowship, grow in their faith, and celebrate
God's presence in their individual lives. Various theme nights are
planned through out the year. The most recent event was the Planet Wisdom Conference which was a two day conference just for youth held in Santa Ana.
Our Older Youth department has been vary involved with the mission
field with trips to Mexico to build houses, helping pack shoe boxes
with Samaritan's Purse in Anaheim as well as to the Amazon to build
a church.

Puppet
Team
Our Team is called Eyes That C Puppet Team.
Our scripture verse is
John 12:45
| And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. |
Eyes that C = Jesus = for who He is and what He has done for us. It is vital that you see him because if you can't see Him than how will you believe in Him and if you don't believe in Him, how will you enter into the kingdom of God. Your lost and you stay lost. And that is not a good thing.
| Jhn 6:40 |
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." |
We present the gospel with puppets so that perhaps those who watch our shows will hear and understand the word and See Jesus..
Puppet Team is very much like a small theatre. We perform skits, create sets, coreagraph movemnet and have dress rehersals for all our shows. We have a backstage crew, costume makers and a team that runs our sound and lights. We have dress rehersals and a cast party after each show.
We have performed full length Christmas shows for our church family and have traveled to other locations when invited. We have done shorter performances for the Awana Ministry and for events like our most recent show on the 4th of July here at HVBC. We also do workshops that we call Puppeteer for A Day that give kids younger than 10 a chance to use the puppets and put on a short puppet show for friends and family of those who attend.
The Requirements to Join us as a puppeteer, propeteer, costume designer, or backstage hand are:.
Children: you need to be at least 10 and willing to do puppet 101 training. You must also memorize the 10 Laws of Puppeteerdom and recite them on command.
(We attend a two day conference each year held in Manhattan Beach by One Way Street, Inc for training and you have to be ten to go).
Adults: No age requirement but you will do puppet 101 training plus if you have not been fingerprinted for the church you will need to get paper work from the church office and take care of that. (Don't worry the laws are not that difficult and the church covers the cost of the fingerprints)
Cost: The only routine cost involved is the purchase of a black shirt for performances, if you do not already own one. We do find scholarships for those with financial concerns that would keep them from joining our team.
You do not need your own puppet to perform with us. We have collected a puppet a year for some time now. So our cast of puppets is varied and fun to perform with. We create characters with wigs, costumes and accessories but as with any ministry we are blessed when someone adds to our puppet cast by donating a puppet to us. We also have the Adopt a puppet progam which means you pay for the cost of the puppet and when we go to the yearly puppet conference we buy a puppet. Sometimes people can pay for the whole thing so they donate a portion and then as other donate when we raise enough we buy the puppet or the amount goes toward costumes or prop making.
Our practice times are scheduled depending on what the script calls for and on how busy our puppeteers happen to be just before a show. The times are random and listing is not possible. We have plans in motion to perform two shows a short one for the Awana Ministry just before Christmas break and a Easter Show for the entire church.
For those interested in a short commitment the short show for the awana program this December requires a commitment time of 5 practices and then the show. We could use some help with the prop making, backstage or with actual puppeteering if you have a stong arm. It really is alot of fun and we would love to have the extra help. For a one day commitment we have a cast party after each event and would welcome help with that as well. If interested you can reach me by phone at 951-529-9812 or by email: emma@eyesthatc.com
